Soloist, composer and arranger
Ricardo Herz with Orchestra
Ricardo Herz’s language for the Brazilian violin takes on a symphonic scale without losing its pulse, spontaneity or connection to popular traditions.
As a soloist, composer and arranger, Ricardo creates programmes that bring together Brazilian music, improvisation and orchestral writing. The repertoire may include original works, arrangements conceived for different ensembles and projects developed in dialogue with each institution’s artistic direction.

Orchestral experience
Ricardo Herz has performed with ensembles including Jazz Sinfônica, Sphinx Virtuosi, the João Pessoa Symphony Orchestra, the Jundiaí Municipal Symphony Orchestra, Filarmônica de Violas and groups connected to Projeto Guri.
His writing explores the violin’s rhythmic and expressive possibilities, building bridges between the concert hall, choro, forró and contemporary instrumental music.
