Coletivo de Violino Popular
Nicolas Krassik · Carol Panesi · Vanille Goovaerts · Ricardo Herz
Four artists with individual musical paths come together to create as a group. Through violins and rabecas, the Coletivo de Violino Popular explores choro, samba and forró, with arrangements shaped by listening, groove and the freedom to improvise.
Four musical paths, a shared creation
Within the Coletivo, each instrument can provide melody, accompaniment, harmony or percussion. The four musicians trade solos, countermelodies and rhythmic patterns, building a sound whose pulse comes from the bows and strings themselves.
The experiences of Nicolas Krassik, Carol Panesi, Vanille Goovaerts and Ricardo Herz meet while retaining their distinctive qualities. This encounter between Brazilian and French artists brings together different approaches, repertoires and sensibilities in a dialogue with Brazilian popular music.
The concert combines fresh interpretations with compositions by the group’s members. Choro, samba, forró and frevo meet in arrangements that leave room for interaction: tradition provides the starting point, and collective creation opens new possibilities at every performance.
The musicians
Nicolas Krassik — violin
Carol Panesi — violin and rabeca
Vanille Goovaerts — violin, rabeca and tenor violin
Ricardo Herz — violin and rabeca
Composition, improvisation and the search for a personal musical language run through all four artists’ work. On stage, everyone contributes to the arrangements and takes turns accompanying and soloing.
