Ricardo Herz for Children

A musical encounter in which children and adults discover how many voices can live inside a violin and a rabeca, a traditional Brazilian folk fiddle.

Ricardo Herz for Children introduces Brazilian rhythms playfully, without treating children as a lesser audience. The show combines original repertoire, play, participation and attentive listening, bringing families closer to choro, forró, baião and other worlds of Brazilian music.

Listen and watch

Videos and songs capturing the project’s atmosphere and its direct relationship with the audience.

The show

Ricardo demonstrates, plays, sings, asks questions and invites the audience to notice pulses, timbres and movement. The violin can sound like a rabeca, accompany like an accordion and become a rhythmic instrument in its own right. The experience is playful and, at the same time, musically sophisticated.

The format can be adapted to different settings and combined with a conversation, workshop or meeting with students.

The album

The album Ricardo Herz para Crianças expands the world of the show with repertoire created for families to enjoy together. Its songs preserve the rhythmic and instrumental richness that defines the artist’s work.
